In Fanfare, which functions as the introduction to an exhibition, the gallery becomes the site of intervention, animated solely by light and sound. The viewer entering the space triggers a short choreography of synchronized moving spot lights to a sampled drum roll remixed from The 20th Century Fox fanfare. Fanfare operates as a prologue, immersing the viewer in a momentary experience of spectacle, staging and theatricality and in an atmosphere of anticipation. |
